An atmosphere of warmth and support is an immeasurable but vital ingredient in our program. At BronxCare Hospital System, where physicians from many parts of the world interact as colleagues at the house staff and faculty levels, there is a special emphasis on teamwork and emotional support for each resident.

The Pediatrics Department has a robust, yet continuously expanding Resident Wellness Curriculum. Residents attend cultural events, international luncheon days, picnics and special outings, annual holiday party, birthday parties, graduation party, and a "get acquainted" luncheon at the start of the academic year. Annual retreats for each class focused on teambuilding and career development. Each incoming resident is assigned both a peer advisor (from the second & third year group) and a faculty mentor. These relationships start from the welcome luncheon.
