An atmosphere of warmth and support is an immeasurable but vital ingredient in our program. At BronxCare-Lebanon, where physicians from many parts of the world interact as colleagues at the house staff and faculty levels, there is a special emphasis on teamwork and emotional support for each resident.

The Pediatrics Department has a robust, yet continuously expanding Resident Wellness Curriculum. Residents attend cultural events, international luncheon days, picnics and special outings, annual holiday party, birthday parties, graduation party, and a "get acquainted" luncheon at the start of the each academic year. Annual PGY2 and PGY3 overnight retreats focused on teambuilding and career development. Each incoming resident is assigned both a peer advisor (from the second & third year group) and a faculty mentor. These relationships start from the welcomeing luncheon.
